Get Excited About the 2021 Subaru Forester

The Subaru Forester is a perfect example of what a modern SUV can be. It looks strong and stylish, and it has many high-quality components that give it great capability. Inside the cabin, there is everything that passengers might need, whether they're just taking a quick trip in Tuskegee or are going on a longer adventure outside of town.

At Montgomery Subaru in Montgomery, AL, we have many trims to consider. They are the:

  • Base model
  • Premium
  • Sport
  • Limited
  • Touring

Interior

In the Forester, there's plenty of room for people and cargo. Legroom in the second row is a spacious 39.4 inches. Behind the seating area, there's a cargo space that has a volume of about 30 cubic feet. For those situations in which you have to make more room for cargo, you can lower the second-row seatbacks. This will give you approximately 70 cubic feet of capacity.

Available in this model are several high-end amenities. Both front seats can be power-adjustable and heated, and all of the seats can be covered with leather upholstery. If you like to take care of yourself and your passengers, consider getting a trim with a heated steering wheel and heated back seats.

Exterior

When you look at a Forester, it's clear that this SUV was designed to be rugged and durable. At the same time, it feels upscale, and it can be a vehicle that you'll truly enjoy riding in. The Forester can sit on either 17-inch or 18-inch wheels, and many trims come with a roof spoiler and panoramic sunroof. The sunroof is one of those features that can make such a difference in the driving experience. The headlights aren't just any headlights; they have LEDs and can adjust their angle depending on what direction the SUV is being steered. Some Foresters can come with LED fog lights and side mirrors that have turn signals built into them.

Safety

The new Forester comes with multiple driver-assist technologies. If you aren't familiar with this concept, it means that the SUV can actively detect problems and take action if necessary. For example, if you approach another car too quickly or start to veer out of your lane, a Forester could prevent an accident from occurring. It would do so by first alerting you to the situation, and if you don't react in time, your vehicle could hit the brakes or correct your steering. Higher trims come with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and reverse automatic braking. There's also an available feature called the DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System. This system can sense when your attention is waning, and if so, you'll be given a signal that will hopefully make you refocus your attention.

Performance

Under the hood of the Forester, there's a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine can deliver 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque, and Subaru has equipped every Forester with Symmetrical all-wheel drive. Having all-wheel drive can make a significant difference in terms of traction. When the road is particularly slippery, the engine can send power to the wheels that can grip the road the best. The Forester handles itself very well, and it can tow up to 1,500 pounds when equipped with the right type of accessories.

Technology

Every Forester has a nice-sized touchscreen to give people an easy way to access certain types of information and control music playback. The first three trims have 6.5-inch touchscreens, and the higher trims have eight-inch touchscreens. Standard on the SUV are Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. There are plenty of options for staying entertained. Standard on the Touring and available on the Limited is integrated navigation. Some of our customers have really come to love having navigation, as it provides turn-by-turn directions that can take traffic into consideration. All models, with the exception of the base model, have Wi-Fi capability as well.
