As a Subaru dealership, it’s no surprise that we have a not-so-secret love of the outdoors and our community. At our dealership, we grow vegetables in our onsite community garden that benefits local charities, staff, and customers. Established in 2015, our garden has grown to over 1/8 acre behind our New Subaru lot. In 2022, we created an official “Garden Share” with local charities Friendship Mission and Meals on Wheels Montgomery AL Metro to fill an ever growing need of providing nutrient-dense food to groups that face food insecurity. We are proud to donate over 1,500 lbs of vegetables annually to charity! In 2023, we became a recognized USDA People’s Garden from the impact that our garden has in our community.
We grow a variety of vegetables in our bi-annual garden, with summer being our most successful season. We leverage the great growing conditions in Alabama to grow tomatoes, peppers, okra, green beans, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, eggplant, and more.
In 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, our team constructed a chicken coop with hopes to provide fresh eggs in addition to our vegetable harvest.
